Summer Events & Activities

The Washington University campus is alive with concerts, activities, and festivals all summer long. The campus hosts many free events including jazz and classical music, yoga, pool parties, and weekly socials. Most of the nearby museums and cultural institutions host special events throughout the summer and, are also free and accessible by way of the Metro Transit System or by walking.

Ongoing Summer Events

Moonlit Yoga

Join classmates for guided outdoor yoga and meditation under the moon and stars on the South 40 Swamp. We host several sessions throughout summer so you can relax, unwind, and find your inner yogi. Mats, water, and post-yoga snacks will be provided

Shakespeare in the Park

Where for art thou students of summer? They are heading to Forest Park to enjoy Shakespeare in the Park - a live modern-day set featuring classic tales from the Bard. Pull up some grass with the WashU community to bask in the masterpiece that is Shakespeare.

Storm the Dorms

Summer is hot - and we have a great way for you to cool down. Beat the summer heat during our university-wide water games in the South 40 Swamp. Expect to get soaked during this competitive and fun water experience.

Summer Solstice Stargazing

Celebrate the longest day and shortest night of the year. Dine family-style overlooking the quad before visiting the Crow Observatory to gaze upon the stars and planets in our galaxy.

Sundae Swim

Bid farewell to WashU with your friends during this final summer event on campus at the Millbrook Pool. We'll have ice cream, other tasty treats, games, and more for you to wrap up your summer.

Find the Flamingo

The WashU Summer mascot, Floyd Pink, wanders about campus each summer offering special treats to those who find him. Where will be he hiding? Tune in to our social media for weekly riddles and puzzles about his location.

Popcorn at the Fun Room

Stop by the Fun Room on the second floor in the Danforth University Center for a mid-week treat. Watch TV, play some pool or Foosball, and enjoy free popcorn.

Tuesday Iced Tea at Three

Come in for free, flavor-infused iced tea and treats from 3-5 p.m. every Tuesday in the Danforth University Center.

Summer in St. Louis

Summer is one of the best times to experience St. Louis!  Washington University is within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, and Forest Park. Enjoy concerts by the renowned St. Louis Symphony Orchestra or catch a Cardinals game downtown.
