Washington University in St. Louis offers more than courses during the summer. Our summer programs are designed for students who seek a scholastic, cultural, and social experience.

   Intensive Chinese and Japanese Institutes

Earn four (4) units of credit in one of our seven-week language institutes. Beginning students of Chinese and Japanese quickly develop language skills and cultural proficiency in classes with master professors and one-on-one tutoring with native speakers.

   International Summer Study

Earn up to seven (7) units of credit in our 5-week program for international students. Admitted students enroll in two rigorous courses, experience American culture through campus activities and off-campus events, and connect with American students, faculty and leaders.

   Prepare For Medical School & Beyond

Join Dr. Gregory Polites, a physician, course master, and member of the School of Medicine's Committee on Admissions, to explore whether medicine is the right career for you, as well as how to best prepare a competitive medical school application.

   Summer Writers Institute

Join published authors and exceptional teachers for two weeks during the summer. Genres include Fiction, Personal Narrative, Modern Humor, Micro Ficton, Playwriting, and Poetry. Revitalize your writing with workshops, craft talks, readings, and individual conferences with instructors.

   Middle & High School Pre-College Programs

Get an early taste of college life and prepare for college success. Explore a major or profession, earn college credit, or challenge yourself in rigorous noncredit courses.
